Bubbleshift privacy policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026.

Your files stay on your Mac

Bubbleshift processes files locally. The app does not upload your documents, images, audio, or video to a conversion server. Bubbleshift has no account system, advertising, analytics SDK, or tracking code, and does not transmit your conversion history to its developer. Actions such as text recognition and background removal use macOS frameworks on your Mac; your images and documents are not sent to a server for them either.

File access and local settings

Bubbleshift accesses files you select or drop into the app. The App Store edition asks you to choose an output folder when needed and stores a security-scoped bookmark locally to remember that permission. Settings such as launch behavior, Shift-drag preferences and your last resize size are stored locally. The current conversion queue is kept in memory and is cleared when the app quits.

Temporary working copies are created during conversion and removed when that conversion finishes or reports an error. An unexpected crash may leave temporary working files. Your original files are preserved. Converted outputs remain in the folder you selected until you delete them.

Other Apple applications

Pages, Numbers, and Keynote conversions use the corresponding installed Apple app. macOS asks for Automation permission before allowing this. Bubbleshift exports a temporary copy so it does not deliberately modify your original or its unsaved edits. Apple's apps and any cloud-synced folders you choose operate under their own settings and privacy policies. Local processing does not disable iCloud or other folder-sync services.

The direct-download edition can optionally ask Finder to position Desktop output icons beside their originals. That option is not included in the App Store edition.

Your controls

In the App Store edition, use Settings → Forget saved folder permissions to remove stored folder bookmarks. Revoke Automation permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Automation. Delete files you no longer want using Finder. Quit Bubbleshift to clear the in-memory queue. There is no developer-held conversion account or file history to delete.

Purchases and support

Apple handles App Store purchases and may provide the developer with sales reports. Bubbleshift does not receive your payment-card details. If you choose to contact support, the information you send is used to investigate and reply to your request. Avoid sending private documents unless needed and you choose to share them. Support correspondence is separate from the app's local conversion processing.

Changes

This policy may be updated when the app's features or data practices change. The latest published policy is available through the app's App Store listing.
